Lucca Comics & Games is the most important Italian event dedicated to animation, comics, imaginary fantasy and science fiction and games (board, card games, role play).
Every year, between late October and early November, in an area of 30,000 square meters, of which 15,000 exhibition, in the city of Lucca takes place the festival of Lucca Comics & Games.
Historically the Comics area, the main area of the fair, is home to everything that touches the comic and the international animation, even if, with the passage of the editions and the years, the Games area has earned the same popularity.
Each year you can find here all the major operators in the sector, therefore, almost all the national specialized publishers, retailers and specialty stores, comics, exhibitors and recreational and cultural associations, all arranged in the numerous pavilions dedicated to them.

The area of Comics & Games
The Comics area is made even more striking because of the provision within the city walls: Piazza Napoleone, Piazza del Giglio, Piazza San Giovanni, Piazza San Martino and Corso Garibaldi. Finally in Piazza del Collegio, at the former Royal College, it is set up the Japan Palace, one of the focal points of the entire event. Here, in addition to being present many exhibitors, we are organized various events and “showcase” related to the world of comics. The Self Area is dedicated to self-productions and amateur projects, which are housed at the Passaglia Pavilion Piazza Napoleone.
Activities
In addition, during the days of the exhibition market, local events and activities involve visitors, which in turn feel absolutely protagonists of the event. The public can in fact participate in live role-playing games, concerts, screenings, meetings with authors, presentations and performances devoted to this fabulous world. Participation in all activities is included in the price of admission to Lucca Comics & Games.
The area on the bulwark of San Paolino is another point to mark on the map. Here, they will also have other kinds of performances, not for musical force. In particular, here there is the Cosplay Competition, open to any individual or group that wants to participate. It is an event that is very appreciated both for those who participate in the competition but also for those who make a spectator, so much so that it was decided to develop it in two days view of the influx of participants.
After the relocation of the event within the historic center of the latest editions, given the marked rise of the public, it was decided to also increase the number of guests of publishing houses and individual exhibitors, thus creating a virtuous circle that allowed to further widen the cultural offer of seminars, meetings and exhibitions for visitors, all surrounded by the picturesque setting of the Renaissance city.
The Lucca Comics & Games 2016 edition will take place from October 28 to November 1, 2016.
